Ian McKechnie started Clientmind Ltd in 2003 after working in the City for 12 years in senior sales and marketing management roles for Reuters, Bloomberg and Thomson Financial. Much of this time was spent innovating and marketing investment software, broker research systems and trading tools to investment management firms. Ian has a MA Marketing Strategy and a BA English degree. He is a member of CIM and IOD.
Why Clientmind?
Ian started Clientmind following a realisation that b2b client retention is an incredibly important, yet under-served area of marketing strategy. He noticed this whilst working in the City and made it the subject for his marketing thesis – finding almost no academic papers on the subject! He thought ‘either this is a dud or I have uncovered a gem.’ Fortunately, this is a fascinating arena to work in and Clientmind has more than a dozen highly satisfied clients.
